In the absence of strong leadership from President Obama, the tin-foil wearing crowd has gained momentum with every passing day since he took office.
Until today, that is.
WIth the announcement that the members of the GOP are working with Democrats in the House, Senate and the White House to raise the debt limit, America has finally jumped of of the Tea Party's crazy train.
And just in the nick of time.
RIght when it looked as if America's most ignorant voting block actually may pull of a Davidesque victory in sparking a global economic crisis, the greedy capitalist underbelly of the GOP pulled the tent down on the Cantor, Bachmann & Boehner's 3-ring circus before the lions had a chance to escape.
When the presidential hopeful told the nation last week that she refused to raise the debt ceiling to cement her position as the only candidate who stood up Big Government, the leaders of the GOP finally realized that the jig was up.
The weeks leading up to the August 2nd deadline will be tone setting days for the Republican Party's presidential hopefuls.
While it seems that Washington has come to its senses, Michelle Bachmann's dissenting voice will likely be heard for months to come. And if she continues to garner the attention she has, having successfully positioned herself as the renegade anti-establishment candidate, it may be difficult to prevent people from wanting to take a look under the big top.
